Photographic Safaris at Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is a land of profound contrasts, where the “salty dust” of the arid lake bed gives way to lush, emerald-green wetlands fed by the permanent subterranean meltwaters of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro. This diverse mosaic of five distinct habitats – from golden savanna and sun-dappled acacia woodlands.
Most notably, the park is a sanctuary for the “Land of Giants,” hosting one of Africa’s largest populations of free-ranging elephants, including the world-famous “Supertuskers” like the legendary Craig (1972–2026) and the magnificent Michael, whose gigantic ivory tusks are so huge they literally touch the ground!
Sai Safaris is proud to partner up with local Masai guides who are born and brought up in the sacred lands of the Masai community. They recognize every inch and speck of Amboseli and they can recognize upto 400 individual elephants and their families in the Amboseli ecosystem (including the Supertuskers)!
