Our Story

Sai Safaris is a local safari brand founded by Dev Chohan, a 20 year old wildlife photographer and safari enthusiast, who is currently pursuing his degree in Veterinary Medicine in Nairobi, Kenya.

Our founder, Dev, saw the tourism industry and realised the many flaws present – the major one being mediocrity and exploitation. We are out here to fix that – we strive to provide quality and long game drives so that our guests can really connect to nature and get their money’s worth!

Whilst we are not a tour company ourselves, we work with other like-minded tour operators and local guides who share the same ideologies as Sai Safaris, ensuring nothing but quality for our guests, with uncompromised standards! In the hopes one day Sai Safaris can grow into an tour company, providing only the best!

Who We Are

Sai Safaris founded by Dev Chohan shares a deep ideology that most tour operators miss – customer satisfaction. Being a safari enthusiast myself, I hated when tour operators would cut corners or offer below-par services, or when I would miss that perfect sunset shot or sunrise sighting just because the driver was in a “hurry”. I wanted to fix that, hence the birth of Sai Safaris!

Although Sai Safaris is not a tour company in itself, we work with like-minded operators and local tour guides who share the same passion for the wild. Stringed this with our expertise in wildlife photography and the knowledge of the bush, we strive to offer only the best for our clients with no compromises. Most operators see a schedule; Sai Safaris see a masterpiece in the making.

Sai Safaris was born out of a refusal to settle for “good enough.” After years of witnessing the magic of the Kenyan bush diluted by cut corners and mediocre service, our founder Dev Chohan set out to curate a different kind of journey – one where the traveler’s experience is the only metric of success.

The Art of Waiting

We respect the rhythm of the wild. We know that the difference between a “good trip” and a “soul-stirring experience” often comes down to patience. Often waiting for hours for the perfect shot requires extreme patience, our guides recognise this and don’t hesitate waiting hours on-end, allowing the bush to unravel secrets on its own time!

Away from the crowds

We are wildlife enthusiasts first and we ensure your driver understands more than just the roads – they understand light, positioning, and the precise angles required to capture the wild in its most majestic form. We also stress on moving away from the crowds to experience the lesser, often overlooked sightings. Whether its just a zebra or a leopard, indulge in the sighting as the only car!
